Grilled Tomahawk Steak on the BonFeu BonBiza Fireplace


1 Tomahawk steak (2-3 pounds)
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
2 sprigs fresh thyme
Salt and black pepper, to taste

Prepare the BonFeu BonBiza Fireplace:

Set up your BonBiza Fireplace and ensure the fire is burning steadily, creating a bed of hot coals. You want a consistent, medium-high heat.
Prep the Tomahawk Steak:

Remove the Tomahawk steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
Rub the steak with olive oil and minced garlic, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
Season the steak generously with salt and black pepper. The large cut can handle more seasoning.
Grill the Tomahawk Steak:

Place the Tomahawk steak on the grill grate of your BonFeu BonBiza Fireplace directly over the hot coals.
Add fresh rosemary and thyme sprigs to the coals to infuse the smoke with aromatic flavors.
Sear to Perfection:

Sear the steak for about 3-4 minutes on each side for a beautiful crust. Use tongs to flip it carefully.
After searing, move the steak to a cooler part of the grill, away from direct heat.
Slow and Low Cooking:

Check for Doneness:

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for around 130°F (54°C). Adjust your cooking time if needed.

Once the steak reaches your desired doneness, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute within the meat.
